Invitation from the Brazilian Government to Organize and Host the 5th Global African Conference/Colloquium in Brasilia, Brazil.

Following its successful outing at the 2008 edition of its annual International Conference held at the State University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2008, plans are on by the Centre in collaboration with Pan African Strategic and Policy Research Group (PANAFSTRAG), to hold the 2009 edition of its annual International Conference series with the theme: “Teaching and Propagating African History to the Diaspora and Doing Same of the Diaspora to Africa” in Brasilia, Brazil at the instance of the Brazilian Government through Brazil's Special Secretariat for the Promotion of Policies on racial Equality (SEPPIR), the Presidency, Brazil.

The Colloquium scheduled for November, 2009 in Brasilia , Brazil shall have scholars and participants from Africa, America , the Caribbean and Europe . It is also open to global Afro-centric organizations, Universities, students and individuals of African descent to chart a sustainable course of cross continental relations between Africa and the Diaspora.

Brazil was chosen again in response to the request from the Brazilian Government that CBAAC holds a follow-up edition of its highly successful 2008 annual International Conference in Brasilia and in recognition of the practical demonstration of Brazilian government's keen interest in the teaching of African history. As part of efforts geared towards ensuring a successful outing for Nigeria , an advance team of three made a pre-colloquium trip to Brasilia as in May 10 to 15, 2009.
