It is the function of the division to preserve the arts and crafts of the Centre. The nucleus of this collection were the materials inherited' from the second World Black and Africa Festival of Arts and Culture Festac '77. These were gradually augmented with donations from World Organizations and countries like The UNESCO, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Cuba, USA, Caribbean, Australia etc.
Consequently, a permanent exhibition of works from some of these countries into a "House" forms part of this superlative collection of international significance.
Furthermore, there is a permanent display of an expensive archeological discovery on Africa and the Origin of Man assembled in Kenya which provides evidence that Africa is the cradle of man. |
